GESEME hosts virtual kick off meeting

On 13 November 2020, the first transnational meeting for the ALERRT project took place online via skype. The kick-off meeting was hosted by the project coordinator, GESEME and was attended by project partners from Spain, Belgium, Italy, Cyprus, Portugal and Czech Republic.

The purpose of the meeting was to share understanding of the purpose of the project as well as to ensure the project’s viability and success. Partners who attended the meeting were from CEIPES (Italy), COFAC – Universidade Lusófona (Portugal), STANDO LTD (Cyprus), European Development Agency – EUDA (Czech Republic), and Autism-Europe (Belgium). The objective of the project is to provide appropriate education to first responders on how to recognise and treat autistic people in emergency situations.

Different topics were addressed during the meeting including the role of each partner, the projects’ main outputs, dissemination and coordination aspects and the next steps. At this initial stage, partners are conducting a needs assessment and analysis in order to develop the content for the VET trainer curriculum.

A second transnational meeting will take place later in 2021. The project foresees three transnational meetings and five national events hosted by partner countries; Spain, Italy, Cyprus, Portugal and Czech Republic over its two-years lifespan.
